First think what tools you’ll need. Every car dvd system is different but there are few tools that are common: a flat-head and Philips-head screwdriver, pliers and a wire striping/crimping tool. This is only a basic list of tools.
Read carefully the dvd player’s manual. What you want especialy to know is schematics of all wire connections. Compare it to car’s manual beacuse you need to know which cables in your car you have to use. Before you start turn off the elctricity to the car.
You must know that there are two most popular types of dashboard dvd player: 2 din and 1 din.
2 DIN dvd player is a player that needs two slots in dashboard to install. So it’s two times higher and looks at least five times better than a normal car radio. These kind of players have much bigger screens so thanks to it you have much better comfort. But they’re harder to install. Perhaps you’ll need to rebuild a little your dashboard to install your car dvd player.
1 DIN dvd players are a normal radio sized and you shouldn’t have any problems with install it.
First you need to take off dashboard’s front panel i take out wires. Then connect antenna cable to the antena input on the player’s back side and speakers to their proper outputs. Check if all connections are ok and then push dvd player into it’s place on the dashboard.
Put screws if any required. Turn on the electricity to the car and start the engine. If player will start shining then this means everything is done properly and you can now configure your car player. If not then you have to pull out the player and check once again all connections.

First think what kind of functions do you want in your dvd player and write them on a sheet of paper. In our opinion it should has at least four loudspeaker outputs so you can have a stereo system in your car. Select a device with high-level outputs. If you want to buy an amplifier later then it has to have low-level outputs also.
Modern radios have an iPod input so you can listen to your favourite music on the car stereo system. Or you can download some movies on your iPod and watch them on the car dvd screen. It’s very handfull solution especialy when you have a large collection of songs on your iPod you listen to very often. You should remember about that in the shop.
Choose a car dvd player with a fader so you can adjust the relative volume of the front and rear loudspeakers. It also has to have an input for charger you can put in the trunk.
Check if you have space in your dashboard for your new car radio with dvd player. Yiou can realise that you simply have no space. You can see these devices most often in two different sizes: single or double. Single is the size of typical car radio. This kind of dvd player has an LCD screen not bigger than 4.3″.
Bigger dvd screens are installed in double size players. Screen can be installed permanent on the front of the radio or it can be hide below the radio. When you press it, it will slide out of the radio. If you worry that your new dvd player can be stolen from your car then we would consider buy this one if we were on your place.
